High Frequency/Tricky Words

High frequency words are the most common words we find when reading, which may or may not(tricky words) always follow the phonics rules that children are learning.  These words need lots of practice so that children will be able to read them as soon as they see them.

Teaching your child to automatically recognise these high frequency words while reading will greatly improve their reading fluency and understanding of what they are reading. This should take no more than 10 minutes each day.
